Home and Landscape Experts Bring the Latest Ideas and Products to Tulsa

26th Annual Tulsa House Beautiful Show Sept. 11-13

TULSA Homeowners will receive information ranging from fall landscaping ideas to interior design trends at the Tulsa House Beautiful Show, coming to the QuikTrip Center in Expo Square Sept. 11-13. The three-day event features the latest tips and products used in home décor and improvements. Whether visitors are craving something new in their home or preparing to sell a home in a bear market, Tulsa House Beautiful will offer a one-stop-shop for home improvement needs.

With more than 200 local and national exhibitors expected, the Tulsa House Beautiful Show will offer new, money-saving ideas that visitors can utilize in their own homes and gardens. Some of this year’s features include:

  • Junk Master, Sue Whitney – Back by popular demand, the original Junk Master will encourage homeowners to salvage flea market finds and unused “junk” to create treasured home furnishings. Whitney knows the ins and outs of making pennies count. Her “junk” style sheds financial constraints associated with bringing new furniture into a home by fabricating unwanted items into re-purposed nostalgia. Whitney, co-author of Junk Beautiful, has appeared on the “Today Show” and HGTV’s “Country Style,” where she transforms junk into fun, elegant and functional furniture and home décor.
  • Tulsa Decorator Showdown – This fast-paced competition is the new design star at Tulsa House Beautiful. Based on the growing popularity of reality show design competitions, the showdown features amateur decorators from Tulsa and pairs them with local TV and radio personalities to produce one-of-a-kind rooms using a small budget and a tight timeline. The competition provides entertainment to Tulsa House Beautiful guests and will allow visitors to participate in the judging process to name “Tulsa’s Top Decorator.” Proceeds from the competition benefit the Tulsa Habitat for Humanity.
  • Tablescapes – Ever wonder how the party planners do it? This feature showcases elaborately decorated tables that promote fun and creativity at social gatherings. Tables dressed in imaginative themes will provide inspiration and top off the perfect dinner party.
  • Humane Society of Tulsa – Furry friends are ready to go home with Tulsa House Beautiful visitors. The Humane Society of Tulsa will return as this year’s Tulsa House Beautiful charity of choice, and will feature plenty of cuddly animals who are ready to go to a loving home. The Humane Society will also have a silent auction with artwork from

local artists. Auctioned items will include paintings, clay work, stained glass and much more. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Humane Society.

  • Go Green-Reduce, Reuse, Recycle –Save money and the environment as local experts show attendees how to turn their home into an energy efficient and environmentally friendly place to live.
